The Friendship of Darby & Sam:

Darby and Sam’s friendship didn’t start with a grand plan... it started on the studio floor at Orangetheory, somewhere between heart rate monitors, timed intervals, and the mutual understanding that they were both slightly unhinged in the best way. What began as coworkers sharing shifts, playlists, and pre-class chaos slowly turned into something neither of them really saw coming: a full-blown friendship built on movement, laughter, and a shared inability to act normal for extended periods of time.

Running, specifically, is Sam’s fault. Sam made Darby start running, and what began as a “this will be fun, trust me” suggestion has since turned into miles of conversation, questionable pacing decisions, and a lot of mid-run existential reflection. Darby shows up willing, Sam shows up confident, and together they’ve turned what should feel like cardio into something closer to a rolling group therapy session with sweat.

Golf, meanwhile, is where their delusion gets a green light. Neither of them approaches it with any level of seriousness that would actually improve their game, but that’s never been the point. It’s about sunshine, competition that doesn’t matter, and fully committing to the belief that the next shot will absolutely be the one that changes everything. Spoiler: it usually doesn’t, but the commentary is elite.

Outside of workouts and tee times, Darby and Sam are always down to clown. Plans are fluid, suggestions are dangerous, and “want to try this?” is basically a trigger phrase for a new adventure. Whether it’s a spontaneous outing, a new hobby, or a drink that probably didn’t need to exist, they say yes first and figure it out later. Curiosity drives them, chaos follows them, and somehow it all works out.

At the center of it all is an endless loop of laughter, the kind that starts mid-sentence, interrupts perfectly normal moments, and makes everything feel a little lighter. It comes from inside jokes born on the gym floor, from being outside too long on purpose, and from the simple fact that they genuinely enjoy doing life together in whatever form it takes.

Darby and Sam started as coworkers at Orangetheory, but somewhere along the way, they turned shared shifts into shared stories, workouts into weekends, and small moments into something a whole lot bigger. Now they’re just two friends committed to movement, mischief, pickle-related opinions, and making sure life is never, ever boring.
